River of Time Museum

The River of Time Museum recounts and preserves the captivating past of the Lower Verde River Valley and illustrates the vital role of water in our Sonoran Desert. The exhibits tell the geological and cultural history of the area. This includes the archaeological and cultural history of the inhabitants of the Lower Verde River Valley including that of the Yavapai people.

River of Time Museum News

Prior to this month’s dinner of the Historical Society, we will honor our newly retired Executive Director Judy Starr Confer, with a special, brief program at the Museum. On Wednesday, September 18, at 5:30 pm we will officially name the introductory room at the Museum, the Judy Starr Confer Orientation Room. Everyone is invited to this unveiling. Recognition of Judy’s accomplishments will continue at the dinner following this unveiling at 6:00 pm with a short presentation compiled by Alan Cruikshank. It is very fitting that Vice President of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, Bernadine Burnette, has agreed to be our speaker at this special dinner. We look forward to her reflections about Judy and her comments on changes taking place on the reservation under the new leadership of President Ruben Balderas. We are extremely pleased that Judy will continue her association with the Museum serving as our liaison with our close neighbor, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
